IEEE NSU Student Branch
The IEEE is dedicated to promoting technological progress, innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE NSU Student Branch (INSB) is a technical subunit of IEEE, which connects its members with the valuable resources and benefits available from IEEE. It creates a bridge for its members to communicate with the aspired tracks within their field of interests and grab a pathway directed towards a successful engineering career.
We are North South University’s (NSU) first internationally recognized student organization for Engineers established in 2009. The IEEE NSU SB is devoted to promoting technological reformations and excellence for the benefit of humanity. Since its establishment, our Student Branch has been actively working to provide IEEE members with adequate exposure in the field of STEM. Our members are continuously elevating their knowledge by discussing technological progressions through smaller and as well as more extensive networking events. INSB has organized different workshops, seminars, contests, field trips, and Flagship Events to facilitate the exchange of expertise in the related field.
Behind the establishment of such an active and successful Student Branch, are a group of enthusiastic and dedicated minds, who have been assembled and committed with the thriving mission of our Student Branch. Our members are regularly engaging themselves in national and global platforms and actively participating as well as winning different contests and awards, funds and eventually representing NSU in both the national and global stages. For two consecutive years, IEEE NSU SB has been awarded as the “Best Exemplary Student Branch” in Region 10 and also most recently, embraced the honor of being “The Best Student Branch” in the Bangladesh Section.
In order to expedite the members towards a more diverse pathway to pursue their knowledge in their field of interests, IEEE NSU SB has three societies and one Affinity Group Student Branch. These are- IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES), IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS), and Women in Engineering Affinity Group (WIE).
Our main goal is to serve, inspire and get inspired to change our community and cultivate our fellow engineers in their related engineering fields through interactive learning, various projects/ workshops, technical visits and arranging Flagship events of IEEE, that will help them to gain a better understanding of the professional environment and technological progress. In the past years, we have hosted a multitude of events including IEEE BDS SYW Congress- 2017, Student Professional Awareness Conference (SPAC 2018 and 2019), IEEE Student Transition and Elevation Partnership (STEP 2019), numerous workshops and seminars.
